2 1/2" Pizza cutter Turning Kit Hole size

Clearly the pizza cutter is of good quality but in the turning instructions it gives the directions to use a 12.5mm drill bit for hardwoods or a 12mm drill bit for softwoods. When you so the threaded insert just drops in. Instead use a 15/32" drill bit for hardwoods and a 7/16" drill bit for softwoods.

Woodcraft sells a 12.5mm Brad Point Bit!

I would like to disagree with an earlier assessment that Woodcraft doesn't sell a 12.5mm drill bit. It is Item #: 151258 Brad Point Bit. They usually have it in the Pen Kit area in the store.

    A Minor Issue

Clearly the pizza cutter is of good quality. I do have one minor issue. The instructions call for drilling a 12.5 mm hole in the end of the blank 13/16" deep. A 15/32" drill is 11.9 mm and a 1/2" drill is 12.7 mm. Woodcraft does not sell a 12.5 mm drill. I guess I will use a 1/2" drill and a lot of epoxy. The other alternative is to use a 1/4" bit and install the cutter without the threaded insert, but you lose the removability for cleaning. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

    Great Quality

I bought this for a house warming gift and it does not disappoint. It is very sturdy and easy to clean as you can unscrew the cutter from the handle. It's a good size, not too big, so it still fits in a drawer without taking up too much room. Makes a great gift since most people I have talked to only have the cheap-o plastic cutters not realizing that it would be nice to have a high quality cutter such as this.

    Great cutters

These are excellent heavy duty cutters. Definitely heavier than those from Wally World. Wife loves her's and threw her other one away. Made 8 of them and they sold within 30 minutes. So ordered several more. Look good with a nice handle and nice heavy cutter. Cutting pizza is a breeze.

    Quality product

Great gift for my wife who often makes homemade pizza. I am not an accomplished turner but it was easy to make a beautiful handle from a nice bubinga scrap. This a quality product worthy of a nice handle. Be careful with the insert. I cracked the handle when inserting it on my first try.
