This unique WoodRiver® Dust Connection™ adapter allows you to utilize commonly available 4" sewer and drain pipe found in most home centers to construct your own dust collection duct and transition to 4" hose for machine connections. This adapter fitting fits on the inside of 4" sewer and drain pipe with 4.065" ID. Pipe marked as manufactured to standard ASTM D2729 is suitable for use with this adapter. Adapter works with left-hand threaded dust collection hose only.

Just what I needed!

There are so many bad reviews of this product that I almost sought after a different solution. I went ahead and purchased 3 of these at my local woodcraft store and figured I'd take them back if they did not work, but luckily for me they work perfectly! I would be willing to bet that most of the bad reviews being left are from people that simply do not read. These fittings are for thin wall "sewer and drain pipe" and not 4 inch schedule 40 pvc. You just can't blame the manufacturer of these fittings for your choosing the wrong pipe to pipe in dust collection. I had also noticed another review mention these only work with "their" hose, whatever that means. This is also not true, I easily threaded my 4" clear vue hose onto these fittings and clamped them in place. If you've actually piped in with thin wall sewer and drain pipe, then disregard all of these negative reviews from people that obviously have no clue what they're doing and go ahead and use these! They do fit a smidge loose into the pipe, however when you add your 3M foil tape(don't cheap out on the foil tape) it holds these fittings in place very securely!

Frustrated

your DWV PVC 4" pipe to 4" flexible 4" hose does not fit into the Charlotte 4" DWV pipe.

Worthless with pvc pipe

Don't know what these adapters are designed to fit but it is not 4" pvc pipe or fittings. I confirmed this for both schedule 40 and thin wall schedule 20. Doesn't sound like many people are having any success with these. Dusty reported it 8 years ago and still the same issues remain. The dust collection manufactures really need to sit down and come up with standardized fittings. Sad really..

Only works with their hose

The left hand thread does not work on other popular 4 inch hoses. So beware. Otherwise it would be useful as it saves you a clamp

Useless with SDR-35 AND useless with the woodcraft plastic blast gates (Model YW1104)

Spec says: Smooth side outside diameter approximately 4.000 inches So, this is for the heavier white Sch40 pipe. As most of us use SDR-35 (3000# crush / 117psi pressure), lighter and cheaper than Sch40, this these WILL NOT work.

Works well for Woodcraft system componen

It works well for most hose connections but doesn't fit all PVC pipe or machine dust ports. Costs add up if you require a lot of these connectors; so try to select dust collection hose, pipe and ports that do not require many of these.

Bad size description

I wanted to attach a flexible hose to a gate of a dustcollector. The hose side fits well, the gate side not, because it is exactly the same size as the gate. I wished the online description had exact measurements, ideally in cm for outer and inner diameters of this fitting.

Adapter for shop dust collection system

Good place to start. Adaptation necessary. Adapter does NOT fit snugly into any 4" PVC pipe product. Get out the duct tape and wrap to increase diameter for a snug fit. If you use PVC pipe for its smooth wall, you must consider how to eliminate static charge build up. Refer to JET book on dust collection.

Excellent, well designed fitting

Adapts nicely from 4"ID PVC to 4"hose. Connection at hose end could not be easier; simply screw the fitting into the hose. Connection at PVC end may require warming the PVC with a heat gun and massaging it to fit snugly, not too tight and not too loose. Other reviewers have criticized this product; in fact, I almost passed on ordering it. I bought 1 to see for myself, and I am reordering. This is a fine product.

Don't waste your money...

Don't waste your money! I bought 4 of these fittings, and within three weeks, they were all broken. For a "compression" fitting, I expected the material to be more structually sound. When I attempted to push the fitting onto a collection port, the plastic exploded into multiple pieces. Same story with the others. Completely unsatisfied with this purchase. Woodcraft should be ashamed for stocking this WORTHLESS item.

Don't buy this adapter!

This is a poor fitting adapter at the hard connection end. I just hope the ABS cement will fill in the space and compensate for the poor fit of the adapter!
