      Pleased with dust collection

      This dust collector is designed to be connected to one or two machines. It seems very efficient at collecting dust. I have connected it to my 8" jointer, my 13" planer, my 10" table saw, and several other tools - of course, not at the same time. The design of the dust collector minimizes dust on the 2-micron filter. The collector has adequate power to collect dust from the aforementioned tools. I am pleased with the ability of this dust collector to collect dust and keep my shop clean.

      Excellent addition to my shop

      Tried to work with the rikon portable dust collector in my small garage shop and it always fell shy for me. Bought this hoping it'd help... and am amazingly happy with it! Suction is excellent and works great with my table saw/bandsaw and horn for lathe/sanding. Only issue I have had at all is with my planer and only with some specific woods. In those cases, the shreddings are too long and clog at the fan ingest point... decreasing airflow and requiring manual cleaning. Other than that nuisance, I have nothing but praise for the unit... handles all my needs with ease.

      Excellent for my small home shop

      This replaced an ancient dust collector that had a pair of cloth bags (30 micron filter style). Having the 2 micron canister filter is wonderful, as it now doesn't just pick up large wood chips and sawdust, but it actually cleans the air. I've wiped down all the walls with Swiffer cloths and found an amazing quantity of fine dust that the old machine did not capture. The new Jet catches it and keeps the place much cleaner. The Jet has far more power than the old 1HP machine did, as well, and it takes less current than the old motor so I can still run it on a 115V 20 amp breaker along with the saw (or one other machine). Using blast gates, I can draw from a saw or bench sander or a router table that's 20 feet away. Moderately loud but not high-pitched so it is not irritating, but I'd still recommend wearing hearing protection especially since it will be running along with some other noise-maker. Easy to assemble. Once it's delivered on a pallet, you can open the box and remove one part at a time, so the weight you have to carry into the shop is not excessive. Glad I got it.

      Awesome, true Jet quality!

      Love this dust collection system. Replaced an older system I had with the better 5 micron filter and the difference is amazing! Jet doesn't let you know, EVER! Going to get a Jet air purifier to pair with this. Great purchase and would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a quality dust collector!

      Works great

      This went together easily. I hooked it up to my 3HP SawStop and a Dewalt Planer with gates. It really does the job. I plan to expand it to my router and band saw which are on the other side of the shop. I expect that to work as well using gates to make sure the suction is only on one tool at a time.

      Good value in a dust collector

      I bought this item 4-5 years ago and it worked well. I have a small woodworking shop and used it as a portable unit for about 2 years. It has two 4" ports and good suction. Took a while to learn how best to clean the catch bag and replace it. There are some steps which make it easier and after some experience it became fairly easy. It was a little hard to move it around due to the small wheels and flimsy stand, but it worked for my needs. I then added a dust separator using the vacumm lid they sell for a garbage cans (Item #143290). This made it a stationary machine but really increased its utility and power by making it a two stage system. This became an awesome shop vac system. If you buy this I highly recommend adding a trash can lid separator with a garbage can right away. It makes this machine twice as good and you will not have to empty the bag very often as over 90% of your sawdust will be captured in the garbage can which is very easy to empty. The bag and three legged stand are flimsy but if you don't empty it often that is not much of an issue. I clean it out about once a year versus every 2-3 months. All in all I would buy it again, but buy a lid separator immediatly. My needs are growing and I will move up to a larger two stage unit in the next year or so, but this unit has served a fairly active shop well for about 5 years. It is a good value and still has all the power when I bought it 5 years ago.

      As advertised

      Arrived promptly, in good condition and as advertised. The three legs supporting the bag and filter are too lightweight, would be better if designed with a fourth leg. With limited initial use, it appears to operate well and provide adequate suction and chip removal for table saw and band saw, using one tool at a time.

      Jet Vortex DC 1100VX-CK

      This is the first Dust contoller I have owned and I did a lot of research. I think it is great value for the money and does an excellent job. I wish Jet had done a better job of identifying the screws, nuts and washers into seperate marked bags. Several times I used the wrong ones in the wrong hole and it took me double the time to errect it because of my errors. I would also be usuful if they you that to try it out you need to buy some 4" and 2" duct work and some clamps to connect it to a machine to at least test it. I have a local store within 2 miles of my house so it was easy for me to get it. That said I am very pleased with it and it is well worth the extra to get a Vortex machine over a traditional vacuum system or shop vacs.

      excellent product

      I have never owned a dust collector and purchased this one after much research a couple months ago. I have been very impressed with this dust collector. It works flawlessly, is quiet, has great suction (can easily handle two tools) and keeps the shop amazingly clean. I spent an entire day working in the shop planing, jointing, and cutting rough cut wood and the collector collected over 30 gallons of dust. I later swept the floor and had 2 cups of dust left over that I am sure escaped the top of my table saw. Never during the day did I even observe any dust floating in the air! The filter also remained completely clean. Great product!

    Compare With
