threaded insert too small for instructed drill bit

The instructions indicate using a 12.5mm drill bit for the threaded insert. The insert simply falls into the hole and the threads grab nothing. As for the rest of the kit... I've not finished it yet due to issues with the hole size and the insert.

    Pizza cutter

This is not a bad kit. The only thing that I am upset about if the screw part. Not sure of the metal but very weak. Broke 2 of them. Overall good kit though. Little on the expensive side though.

    Disappointing

I bought a half dozen of these kits. The competitors kit, in my opinion, is much better and I give that one five stars. The drilling instructions on this kit are inaccurate. I did have epoxy on hand and I hope it’ll hold. The half inch hole is too large. The sale price is same as competitors sale price but at regular price, this kit is more and it makes no sense to me. The blade on this one is not as nice, the plastic washers make it look cheap, the part that the handle lines up with is not a circle. I guess I could probably come up with a few more complaints but I’ll stop at this.

    Mediocre Casting

It is heavy and sharp and will be as beautiful as your turning. Sadly, it seems to be die cast and the casting marks weren't ground out before it was chromed. The hole in the head allows it to be hung rather than thrown in the drawer, the allen head axle allows the blade to be removed for thorough cleaning (or pulling off the protective plastic), there is enough magnetism in the blade to attach the cutter to a magnetic knife rack. I never found the instructions, but the process seemed to be straight-forward. This might be the best kit out there, but it isn't good enough for me to quit looking.

    Quality could be better

I bought three to make gifts. I was happy with them but the bolt for the handle is very poor quality. Poor casting. I cut off mine and drilled and tapped the holes and put in quality bolts. BIG!!! improvement in fit. Old ones were loose when screwing on the handles and the new ones were very tight screwing on. Maybe just me but nothing worse then giving a gift that breaks or falls apart.

    Great Pizza Cutter

The hardware is great. The only issue I had was the hole size for the handle but I figured it out. The blue film was more work than I wanted to get off. ended up using an allan wrench to take the blade off to get the film off.

    not impressive

not impressed with the item, the back isnt the same as the front that is pictured, although it would make that side easier to clean.

    Very Cool Gift

I love this pizza cutter. As another reviewer stated, the instructions are incorrect concerning the hole size for the threaded insert. Buyer beware. Otherwise, this is a beautiful project, with great visual appeal. I made one for my wife as part of a "trilogy" gift (Cutter/Pizza Peel/Oven Stone). She was impressed. I'm ordering more kits for gifts for our kids. It works well, and looks great. Recommended

The possibilities are limitless, you are only limited by your imagination. Have turned several of these kits with outstanding results.

    Nice Pizza Cutter

Overall very nice. I had difficulty getting the protective film off the blade. Don't know why they run it under the frame.

    Good Product, Poor Instructions

I purchased this kit and was pretty happy with it except that I had to turn two handles because the first I drilled too large of a whole in and didn't notice till I was finished. The instructions specified the wrong size hole! I had to start over. I was very disappointed with this aspect, but thrilled with the final product.
