Outer filters prolong the lifespan of the inner filter allowing your air filtration system to operate at an optimal level with maximum effectiveness. This replaceable Outer Filter is designed for the Rikon® 62-400 and 62-450 air cleaners. It will capture 85% of particles five microns in size or larger. The average life of this filter is approximately four to eight weeks when used regularly, though the actual life of the filter will depend on the amount of dust created each day.

    Much better than the stock filter

    This filter is much better than the fiberglass filter that my Rikon air cleaner came with. I have a small basement woodshop and even with dust collection at the power tools I still get a lot of fine dust in the air from sawing and sanding, which means the pre-filter on the air cleaner clogs up fast. The fiberglass filter was only able to be vacuumed or cleaned with compressed air a few times before it started to fray. This filter has a much sturdier housing and looks to be some type of paper on the collection side. So far its held up much better and when it's time to finally replace it, I'll be getting the same one.
