Screws will not accept patina.
This hardware is fine for most purposes. However, if you intend to create a patina on the brass, beware the screws are steel and will rust. you must find solid brass screws to do the job.

I used these on several small boxes as gifts. For my personal use I would upgrade the heavier Horton hinges.
